The Real Reason You Keep Second-Guessing Yourself - Better Than Balanced Human Design Blog

Do you ever find yourself looking to other people before making a decision?

Wondering what they think.

Asking for advice.

Looking for reassurance that you're making the right choice.

Or maybe you've said yes when you knew the answer was no—simply because it felt easier to keep the peace.

Many of us move through life feeling like we're standing at a crossroads, constantly looking to someone else to tell us which path to take based on their expectations, opinions, and ideas about what we should do.

We worry about making the wrong choice.

And the more opinions we collect, the harder it becomes to hear our own.

I know I did.

For much of my life, I was more focused on keeping everyone else happy than listening to myself.

I said yes when I meant no.

I gave more than I should.

I tried to be everything for everyone.

And eventually, it caught up with me.

On the outside, I appeared agreeable and accommodating. On the inside, I often felt frustrated, bitter, and disconnected from myself because I knew I wasn't making decisions that were truly right for me.

I was constantly second-guessing myself.

Everything began to change when I learned about decision-making through Human Design.

In Human Design, each person has a unique decision-making process called their Authority.

Human Design doesn't tell you which path to choose.

Instead, it helps you understand the decision-making process that is uniquely yours—so you can trust yourself to know when a path is right for you—not based on pressure, expectations, fear, or what someone else thinks you should do.

When I began experimenting with my own Authority, something shifted.

I stopped looking outside myself for confirmation.

I stopped needing everyone else's approval before making a decision.

I started trusting my own process.

Did everyone like it?

No.

Some relationships changed.

Some conversations became uncomfortable.

A few feathers were ruffled along the way.

But for the first time, I felt aligned with myself.

And that brought a sense of peace I had never experienced before.

If you find yourself constantly second-guessing yourself, it doesn't necessarily mean you're indecisive.

It may simply mean that you've never been taught how you're uniquely designed to make decisions.

Human Design helped me understand my own decision-making process, and it may help you understand yours as well.

Because when you begin making decisions in a way that aligns with your design, something remarkable happens:

You begin trusting yourself again.

And when you trust yourself, everything else starts to feel a little clearer.

The goal isn't to find the "perfect" path.

The goal is to trust yourself enough to choose the path that's correct for you.
